Staffordshire shares borders with the counties of Cheshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, West Midlands, Worcestershire and Shropshire.

The largest city in Staffordshire is Stoke on Trent. Other major towns and cities include Burntwood, Burton upon Trent, Cannock, Kidsgrove, Lichfield, Newcastle under Lyme, Rugeley, Stafford, Stapenhill and Tamworth.

Staffordshire is divided into nine districts which includes; Cannock Chase, East Staffordshire, Lichfield, Newcastle under Lyme, South Staffordshire, the Borough of Stafford, Staffordshire Moorlands, Tamworth and Stoke-on-Trent which is an independent unitary authority.
