The county of Somerset is located in the south-west region of England and borders the counties of Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Bristol. The county town is Taunton situated to the south of the county. Other main towns in Somerset are: Bath; Norton Radstock; Clevedon; Weston super Mare; Bridgwater; Burnham on Sea; Highbridge; Frome and Yeovil.

Somerset is predominately a rural county and the main industry is agriculture. The county is partly bordered by the Bristol Channel and the estuary of the River Severn. Somerset is overlooked by the Mendip and Quantock Hills and also has Exmoor National Park within its boundaries.
