The county of North Yorkshire is located in the north-east region of England and is the largest ceremonial county in the country. York and Middlesbrough are the largest settlements in the county with populations at the last Census in 2001 of 138k and 143k repectively.
Other large towns in North Yorkshire are: Harrogate; Scarborough; Eston and South Bank; Redcar; Billingham; Stockton on Tees and Thornaby.
