The county of Norfolk is part of the eastern region of England sometimes referred to as East Anglia. The county town is Norwich the population of which at the 2001 Census was approximately 174,000 people. Norfolk shares borders with Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk as well as the North Sea.
Norfolk is the fifth largest county in England but has a low population density due to being predominantly a rural county. Apart from Norwich, other large towns are Kings Lynn, Great Yarmouth and Thetford.
